What are Sun Signs?

Sun signs are determined by the position of the Sun in a particular zodiac sign at the time of your birth. There are 12 different sun signs as per astrology.

Aries (March 21 – April 20): The animal sign associated with the sun sign Aries is that of a Ram. Their ruling planet is mars, color is red and star stone is diamond. Aries are natural leaders; they like new ideas. They are energetic, adventurous and love freedom. They are very devoted parents. When it comes to their negative traits they can be selfish, impulsive, impatient and short-tempered.

Taurus (April 21 – May 21): The animal sign associated with Taurus is the bull. Their ruling planet is Venus, color is pink and stone is emerald. Their positive traits are that they are dependable, patient, stable, determined and love security. Their negative traits are that they can be envious, self-centered, inflexible and greedy.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21): The sign associated with Gemini is of the twins. There ruling planet is Mercury; color is green and stone is moss agate. Gemini persons have very good communication skills. They are witty, intelligent, adaptable and versatile. Their negative traits are inquisitive, cunning, and selfish and cannot maintain themselves in one relation and keep changing their partners.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22): The sign associated with this sun sign is the crab. Its ruling planet is the Moon, color is silver and stone is pearl. Their positive traits are caring, loving, careful, protective and their negative traits are they can be moody, possessive and cling to past memories.

Leo (July 23 – August 21): The animal associated with this sun sign is that of a  lion. Ruled by the planet sun, their star color is gold and their star stone is ruby. Leos are the most spontaneous of all sun signs. They are extrovert and dominating. Their negative qualities are that they can be bossy, interfering and dogmatic.

Virgo (August 22 – Sept 23): The sign associated with Virgo is that of the virgin. Its ruling planet is mercury, color are green and dark brown and stone is sardonyx. Positive traits of Virgos are that they are intelligent, reliable, analytical and hardworking. On the negative side they can be overcritical, worry too much and in general  fussy in nature.

Libra (September 24 – October 23): The sign associated with the sun sign Libra is the scales. The ruling planet being Venus, their color is blue and the stone is sapphire. Their positive qualities are, they are  charming, diplomatic, social and peaceful. Their negative traits are –  self-centered, easily influenced and flirtatious in nature.

Scorpio (October 24 – November 22): The animal sign associated with Scorpio is the scorpion itself. Its ruling planet is Pluto, color is dark red to maroon and stone is opal. The positive traits of scorpions are, they powerful, energetic, determined and exciting. Their negative traits are – they are jealous, resentful, obsessive and stubborn.

Pisces (February 20 – March 20): The sign associated with this is that of the fish. Their ruling planet is Neptune, color is soft seagreen and stone is moonstone. Their positive traits are sensitive, selfless and sympathetic and their negative traits are – they can be secretive, with a weak will power and can be easily manipulated.
